After immense work and dedication, in November 2022 Outback Aussie Tours relocated two iconic Queensland Rail heritage 2000 class silver bullet rail motors from Queensland Rail’s Ipswich workshop to their new home in Longreach to form their latest experience, the Outback Rail Adventure.
From travelling over the Thomson River and flood plains, journeying to the one pub town of Ilfracombe, to exploring the incredible landscapes from the Dreamtime of our First Nations peoples or even soaking up a sunset with wine and canapes – there’s an experience for all. If you’re after that bit more, Outback Aussie Tours also offers dinner and show packages for an even more memorable outback holiday.
Bookings for the Outback Rail Adventure are now open, with tours running between June and October 2023. “Whether you like trains or like the outback, or both, this is a new and entertaining experience in Longreach,” said Alan Smith. With six experiences showcasing the beauty, stories and culture that keep the outback alive, you’ll find there’s no shortage of unforgettable memories to be made, awaiting you on a journey to the heart of Queensland.
